Your wedding ceremony is by far the most important part of the entire day, but you definitely want your reception to be special as well. After all, this is when you will really get the opportunity to celebrate your day with your friends and family. The moments of laughter and tears, and dancing, and everything else, will bring memories to you and your loved one that will last a lifetime. It's those moments following your wedding that you get to enjoy your extended family for the first time, and it is those moments that you anticipate for days and weeks leading up to your wedding day.
Because the reception is sentimental and emotional, you want it to be special. In order for this to happen, you must pay attention to every detail. One not-so-minor detail that can really set the mood at a wedding reception is the presence of candles. Here are just a few ways that you can incorporate candles into your special party and set the mood for you, your loved one, and your guests.
You will obviously want to place candles on your guest tables at your wedding reception, but why go with simple universal candles? A great way to add to the ambiance would be to use candles that tie in with your wedding theme, or the place where you are having your wedding and/or reception. If you are having a fall wedding and holding the reception outdoors, a great idea would be to find arrangements with fall colored leaves and possibly pumpkins and gourds. If you are going to be outside though, be sure to get deep candle holders or hurricane candles that will block the wind if there is any.
Another way to incorporate candles into your wedding reception is to arrange them on the food tables. You could either match the candles to those on your guest tables, or you could do something in the same theme but totally different. Regardless of how you decide to use candles, remember that they can add so much to the overall mood of your special day.
