International Duties

United Kingdom (Great Britain)
  • Goods are not chargeable if the total value of goods in the consignment does not exceed £18.
  • Customs duty is payable on imported goods with a value over £150 (£120), although payment is waived if the amount of duty is less than £10 (£7).
  • The calculation for import VAT is based on the price paid for the goods, including any local sales taxes, plus postage, packing and insurance costs, plus any import duties charged.
Australia
  • Generally, all goods imported into Australia are subject to Customs duty and GST and are assessed for community protection risks.
  • Receiving your goods via the post identifies you as the importer of those goods and these may be subject to Customs duty and Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Canada
  • If you owe duty and tax, it will be indicated on Form E14, CBSA Postal Import Form, which will be attached to your mail item when it is delivered.
  • Canada Post charges the recipient either a $5 handling fee for collecting duty and taxes on behalf of the CBSA, or an $8 handling.
  • For an item worth CAN$20 or less, there is no duty or taxes on the item. If the item is worth more than CAN$20, you must pay the applicable duty, the GST or HST, and any PST on the item's full value.
